In the fall of 2022 Lafayette College in Easton, PA worked with MELTRIC and the Ford Motor Company to develop a charging system for an electric plane. The plane successfully flew from Connecticut to Lafayette College and was the first ever electric plane to fly over a sanctioned sporting game. The electric plane used a Ford 150 Lightning with a MELTRIC DS200 to charge the plane. The DS200 was connected to the truck bed, then went to an inverter which went to the plane. MELTRIC is proud to be part of this historic event.
